Earthquake in New Zealand

Thanks to all my friends for their kind words and concern after the earthquake down here in New Zealand. I'm 500 miles away so not affected physically but there is obviusly an emotional effect as I have many friends and colleagues in Christchurch.

Thanks also to Tim and Chris for adding the video feeds to the emergencystream site.  From my perspective I've been able to let friends in other parts of the world see just what is hapenning. Tim, Chris .. you guys do an awesome job.

Take a minute and read this story. The day the earth roared It was written by a newspaper journalist who was there when it happened. As firefighters we see one side of it, this is the other.
